We're back from Sin City ☺!
It was a lot of FUN, a lot of SUN, and a whole lot of gambling ---- sadly, very little winning.
We picked up our rental car and it was brnd spankin' new - had 4 miles to it. Love the new car smell (even if it was just a Hyundai)!
We stayed at the Renaissance Hotel which is very close to the strip. We've stayed here before and I love the hotel because it doesn't have a casino within the hotel so you don't get the *smoke* and the all the crowd.
Yet it's close enough to the strip that you can go to any of the other casinos fairly easy.
The hotel is nice, modern and clean. The valet and gym use are all included -- score!
(TV area within the lobby)
(Envy Bar and grille off of the lobby)
(With a welcoming sign on the TV as soon as you enter)
(Bathroom)
(They have Aveda products which I love!)
(The view from our room)
(The Fitness Center -- the TM's each had their own little TV's)
(Fruit juice after your workout)
(Pool area)
Here are some sights of the city....
(Fountains at the Belaggio)
(Paris hotel)
(M & M's store with FREE samples --- you bet I had handfuls of the Peanut Butter)
(Wynn hotel)
(The Venetian/Palazzo hotel)
(Lobby of The Cosmopolitan)
Our first night, we went to eat at the "Wicked Spoon" in The Cosmopolitan hotel. We heard that it was one of the best buffets in town (besides the one at the Wynn).
The price was a little higher than "regular" because of the Labor Day weekend.
The ambiance was very nice and classy!
The buffet DID NOT disappoint. The selection was awesome! They even have a lot of the items on individual servings which cuts down on waste especially if you want to try a-little bit-of-everything. Next time, we just have to try the buffet at the Wynn for comparison.
We got a great deal with our hotel accommodations which included a sit-down breakfast everyday.
I'd like to say that we ate *healthy* most of the time but then again --- we were on vacation! So one day, hubby indulged on the Banana Foster Brioche French Toast and I had the Whole Wheat Blueberry Pancakes.
One night, we also went to Roy's which had the Best Happy Hour deals in town!
$5 appetizers and drinks.
I had the Skinny Margarita which was pretty "strong" while hubby had a glass of red wine. We ordered some sushi and sliders. Service was excellent so I highly recommend it when you're in Vegas.
We had scheduled a couple's massage at Boracay Massage on one day which of course was excellent! I ran 9 miles that morning so the massage came in oh, so handy! We've gone there in the past so we knew what to expect. The massage included hot stone as well so it was perfect to get all my big 'ol knots out.
Then we had a Groupon for Thai food which we cashed in afterwards. We went to Weera Thai and I ordered the Phad Thai while hubby had the Basil Curry Shrimp.
And of course, a trip to Vegas wouldn't be complete without going to the Outlet stores and then Sushi Mon [or even Makino].
All wonderful, fresh and yummy sushi!!!!!
Got back in yesterday and my brain is still on "vacation mode". I forgot to feed Smalls last night and when I got to the gym to teach Zumba, I realized that I forgot to bring socks. Thankfully no blisters afterwards.
After all the indulgence we did on Labor Day weekend --- its time to get back on track! Back to regular workout schedule and back on "training mode". My HM is in 9 days!!!!
If you've been to Vegas, do you like staying on the strip? Does it matter? Do you like the buffets? Do you stay on track with diet and exercise when you're on vacation?
