Pre-Race Anxiety

Hi there! I hope all of you had a fantastic weekend!

This is the last week before R n'R Seattle.... I've begun tapering my runs and boy, do I need it. Running takes a toll on my body especially in addition to teaching 3 hardcore cardio classes a week.  
For dinner last night, I made Chicken Stir Fry with white rice (let the carbo-loading begin)!



And for dessert, I made one of hubby's favorites ~ Nuttela Cupcakes, in honor of Father's Day of course.



I have to admit that I'm starting to have some self-doubt and lack of motivation coming up to this half-marathon. But I think it really has more to do with physical fatigue. I am planning to rest 2 days before the race...hopefully, that'll let my body relax and my muscles heal.

I'm planning on focusing on a few things this week mainly:
  • Good nutrition
  • Using my foam roller pre and post-run
  • Stretching out
  • Icing if necessary
  • Getting enough rest/sleep
  • Prepare mentally
And recite my race mantra....

Run without expectations - just focus on running your BEST!
