Snack Attack

Last week, I came home and found a FedEX box on my doorstep. Not expecting any deliveries...it got me all excited! 

When I opened the box, it was filled with sample products from Frito-Lay. 

They graciously sent 2 flavors of Sun Chips (Garden Salsa and Harvest Cheddar), the Classic Lay's Potato Chips and Tostitos Hint of Lime tortilla chips. It was packed neatly in a reusable Frito Lay grocery bag made from recycled material. Personally, I love Fritos and Cheetos {----sigh}.

Frito Lay is celebrating the "greening" of their Casa Grande plant in Arizona. It is now 75% Near Net Zero which means it operates mostly on renewable energy and recycled water while producing nearly zero waste to minimize impact on the environment.

So if you love Mother Earth, consider Frito Lay products the next time you're at the snack aisle. You can find out more information HERE.

We try and do our part in helping minimize our carbon footprints. 

So far we:

- Turn off electronics when not in use {they say to unplug completely but we haven't been able to go that far}.

- Turn down the central heating by about 1-2 degrees especially during the day.

- We try to do our grocery shopping just once a week (single trip).

- Using energy saving light bulbs.

- Recycling paper and plastic products.

- Buying local products as much as possible.

- Buying organic if possible.

- Avoid purchasing bottled water.

- Avoid overpackaged products.
