Savoring the weekend

Hello friends ☺!
Another start to the work week and it's the last few days of February [leap year-day on Wednesday].
The weekend was a little cray-cray. We woke up Saturday morning to more-or-less a blizzard! [the groundhog was right!

This was the scene in our neighborhood --- including a couple of stalled and sliding cars.

After the gym that morning, we did manage to go to the Home and Yard Show which was not very good at all. Being that this is a small town , it didn't have many interesting vendors and displays, mostly local businesses and such.
......we did end up getting set up for carpet cleaning and our side fence scheduled to be fixed in the next few weeks. So overall, not a wasted Saturday morning.

Came home and fixed lunch: Pastrami Panini

I went to my friend Mel's house that night as she was hosting a dinner that was catered by Jordan (one of the young 'uns that work at the front desk at the gym). Jordan is graduating from culinary school and wanted to show-off his skills to a few of us.

I don't remember what the names of all the dishes were but they were all good.

Hors d'oeuvres: ? spinach tarlet thing
Salad: Quinoa/Lentil/Bean with Pumpkin Dressing
Entree: Chicken with a side of Potatoes and Carrots
Dessert: Basil Ice Cream with Caramel Sauce <--- the best part!

Jordan did such a great job and put in a lot of work. We are so proud of him!

Yesterday was rest/chore day and watched Moneyball ON Demand in the afternoon. We figured, we needed to watch at least one nomintaed film before the Oscars.

If I had to pick my favorite....it would have to be Cameron Diaz's outfit
{simple yet feminine}

Did you watch the Oscars? Any favorites?
Now I just have to find time to watch a list of movies and documentaries that I didn't even know of until last night.

Have a great start to your week!
