Well hello there☺!
Another start to the work week...another happy hour to look forward to.
Friday nights have been our *date night* and hubby and I have been taking turns picking the spot every Friday. This time, it was his turn and we went "Mexican". Our watering hole was called Casa de Oro
and although we had been there before, it had been several years.
First off, the ambiance was kinda "cheesy". It's a fairly old establishment so it also had an "old" smell to it. I actually didn't want to stay but we figured -- "let's be adventurous and try it out anyway".
Our server was very nice and I asked for a "skinny" margarita and she eagerly told the bartender to concoct one for me. The recipe is actually very easy anyways...
Skinny Margarita
- clear tequila
- splash if lime juice
- splash of Grand Marnier or triple sec
- ice
- Salt (optional)
- lime wedge
Appetizers were 1/2 off so we ordered the Buffalo wings.
[In our minds--we figured if it wasn't good, we'd fill up with the free chips and salsa☺]
It was surprisingly good!!!! I added hot sauce and that made it even better. We opted for Ranch on the side.
We even stayed for another order of margarita (for hubby)....
.....and yes.....another order of Buffalo Wings.
I give it 3.5 winky faces
And since we're *senior citizens* and done with dinner at 5:00pm, we decided to stop by hubby's high school alma mater to watch some fastpitch softball. I love that dog in the corner --- he was so sweet and patient because the game was a total snoozer.
We headed home and we were in bed by 8.
We're such party animals!
