Hey there! How's it going???
We're in a winter snow storm watch here in the PNW. Poor hubby had to shovel at least 11 inches of snow this morning from the driveway.
How was your first week of 2013?
Hubby and I checked out Northern Quest Casino last Friday on our *date night*. Yes, we went to the {seafood} buffet but I doubled up on the salad/veggies this time. I had some of the crab legs, had the sugar-free dessert and no coffee.
Then the rest of the weekend was spent working out in the mornings and vegging out the rest of the day. But we did manage to go to Costco, do some grocery shopping and other chores around the house in between.
Some recent eats: I've been doing my own 14-day detox cleanse so every morning, I've been having a smoothie instead of coffee.
I chose to purchase Rawjuvenate because it's all natural, organic and vegetarian.
....and it's very simple and easy.
From their website:
HOW IT WORKS
Replace one solid meal with one liquid meal daily using the Super Green + Vegetarian Protein Powder. Prepare a nutritious and delicious liquid meal to feel energized and satisfied. Try drinking it first thing in the morning to fuel you for the day. Use our RawJuvenate Energy Shake recipe or simply add the super green and vegetarian protein to your favorite smoothie recipe. Then follow smoothie/shake with Aloe, Probiotic and Fiber (if needed).

Rewind to New Year's Day. We have a tradition in our family that hubby cooks "Lengua" every year.
I know it doesn't look very good when it's raw but thankfully, we don't eat it this way.
It is soooo good and probably one of my favorite Filipino dishes.
I definitely miss my coffee in the morning, other than that....detox is not so bad.
If losing weight was one of your New Year's resolutions, here's some tips that I find helpful:
- Find what you love to do. And then be consistent.
- Take control of your surroundings.
- Get enough sleep, at least 7 hours. Keep technology out or off during bedtime.
- Breathe your way thin. - Breathe in for 8 counts, hold your breath for 8 counts then breathe out for 8 counts, 8 minutes a day
