Spring Launch

We had our spring launch at the gym a couple of weeks ago and here's some photos of the event.
Our theme was Livestrong in honor of Team Michael Moyles.

Strong athletes make better athletes

......that's my mantra right now.

Oh my ~ it's Thursday already!

Teaching, training and learning new routines have taken over most of my time this week. Somehow, I've managed to make dinner every night eventhough I haven't posted any of the pix.
Here's one from last night:
Sesame Beef Satay with Rice

Like I mentioned in previous posts...our launch at the gym is this Saturday, March 31st so if you're local and you want to learn more deets --- just post a comment or shoot me an email.

(with my Cardio XT peeps at last launch)

My legs are starting to feel the fatigue from this week especially after the 6 mile run yesterday. I made myself a green protein smoothie afterwards to help with muscle repair.

Of course, I shared it with Smallsie --- he needs it, too since he's been going for looooong walks with hubby.

What's in it?
  • NF plain yogurt
  • frozen banana
  • strawberries
  • handful of spinach
  • splash of OJ
  • Silk plain soy milk
  • 1/2 scoop of Sun Warrior protein powder
  • ice and H2O
Today's plans include some much needed rest and then Zumba tonight. I'm sooo looking forward to *date night* tomorrow. Love date nights ♡.

Weekend Warrior

Hello there! Happy Monday!

I feel so much better today after being *sick* for a week. It's definitely tougher to workout [and make it look like you're enjoying it] when you're feeling under the weather.

I did manage to get through our launch at the gym on Saturday. We had a great turnout despite the nasty weather.

I took my camera with me but realized that the battery was dead when I got there...so pardon the poor quality of the *android* shots.

{Me and Strength XT instructor, Kristen}

There's about 9 more days until the Eat In Month challenge is finished and we're doing really good! I've had so much soup over this past week which really helped my cold...but I can't wait to have me some *happy hour*.

How are you doing with EIM?

Did you do anything fun over the weekend?
Besides the launch, mine was spent in bed trying to catch up with rest and sleep because of this "cold". Hubby kept me company and watched football most of yesterday.

Have a great start to  your week.

Snow Day

Good Friday morning friends ! Snow day today for local schools because of the winter storm. Actually, today's roads are not as bad as last night's but oh well.....long weekend for everybody!

This is what the road looked like this morning on my way home from the gym.

Smalls doesn't like the snow too much. He's more interested in looking for *crouching tiger*

Yesterday's eats:
Open-faced Chicken Burrito
Dinner: Herbed Marinated Salmon with Rice

I came across this the other day. Have you ever heard of......

Toilet Yoga?

We all spend time in the *loo* so why not, right? I don't know about you though, but I try and spend the least amount of time in there ---- let alone have enough time to do a few yoga poses.
I just thought this was interesting......and No I didn't get compensated.

According to Toilet Yoga Movement, purchasing this book “will off the opportunity to connect with others around the world as you share in the joy of relief and satisfaction.” This book is “A guide. A way to change how you spend your precious alone time.”

The proceeds of the book do go to a good cause, to provide toilets to places with poor facilities. It costs $12.

What do you think?

And if you're local, don't forget the our *launch* is still on for tomorrow!

Brownie Pops

Good morning friends ☺!!! How was your weekend?

We had a blast doing the "fall launch" at the gym. I'll post pics once I can steal them off of Facebook ☺.
We had a great turnout and tied the launch along with Breast Cancer Awareness month so we all had something "pink" to wear for the day. So much FUN!

I made Brownie Pops for all the instructors, too. I've been wanting to try this for a long time but never really had an opportunity or an event to take it to. This weekend was my excuse to do it...and they were a HIT!

Very simple. First, make the brownies per package instructions. Then after cooling and once you're able to handle it with your hands, roll them up into balls (like meatball-size), then place in the fridge to chill for about 2 hours.

Then using a double boiler, melt about 2 cups of semi sweet chocolate or candy melts or in my case, chocolate that I had in my pantry. I used 2 whole bars of Dark Green and Black Organic chocolate.

Option is to add about 1/4 cup of peanut butter.

I placed lollipop sticks into the brownie balls and assembled my dips accordingly.

Dip the brownie balls into the melted chocolate/peanut butter mix and then add sprinkles on top (optional).
So they look like these afterwards.....
Chill in the fridge until you're ready to serve ....

That's the morning of the launch, munching on a Luna bar just before I headed to the gym. We had "camo" attire for our routine and a big "poof" hairdo...but I wasn't quite done with my hair yet.

The rest of the weekend looked like this....Smalls chillin' with hubby on the front porch. Some fall cleaning out in the yard and relaxing after an exhausting Saturday. Hubby went on a bike ride both days which helped keep him sane.

I've got my interview this morning...so wish me luck!

Good luck, Mama!

Chill'axin

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day for a drive to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Most of you know that we're about 30-40 minute drive away from the Washington-Idaho border.
Zi spa had an end of the month special ~ $55 for a 1 hour swedish massage that I couldn't pass up.
So I took advantage of the afternoon to do some chill'axin....
...and while I was in Idaho, I stopped at Costco to get some items. Sales tax is only 6% in Idaho compared to about 8.5% in Washington - winning!

If you're looking for a great workout or just to try something new, make sure you come to our open house this Saturday (if you're in the area, of course). It is FREE for everybody.

RPM (spinning) - 8:00 am (1 hour)
Zumba - 9:15 (20 minutes)
Body Attack - 9:35 (20 minutes)
Cardio XT - 9:55 (20 minutes)
Body PUMP - 10:15 (20 minutes)
